School Day

The procedures for the beginning and the end of the school day:

The school day will start at 8.45 am.  The children can enter the school grounds at 8:45am and should walk straight to their classrooms where they will be supervised.

The children can enter the school grounds via any entrance that is convenient to where their classroom is situated.  To ensure the safety of everyone please avoid waiting at the gates.

Afternoon pick up:

We ask that you arrive to collect your child and leave the school premises promptly. Please be mindful that the car park will be busy so please do not abandon your car. Wait until a parking space becomes available and staff will hold onto your child until you arrive.

Waiting Club

P1 and P2 parents/carers can book the Waiting Club via School Money for Monday to Thursday.

The club is open for our P1 and P2 pupils. The cost is £2 per day. Bookings must be made before 12 midnight for the next day. Children are collected for the SMOTH Waiting Club at 2pm daily by a classroom assistant and brought to the allocated room.  Waiting Club collection is from door 1 (P1 door) for P1 pupils and the reception door for P2 pupils.

Children must be collected in person from the Waiting Club. No child is ‘sent out’ to wait on a parent/carer.

Parents are responsible for communicating to the club supervisor any information regarding changes to the authorised person responsible for collecting their child.

If an authorised person is not collecting the child and a different person turns up unannounced, the club supervisor will comply with the following procedures:

The supervisor will:

  • Verify the person’s identity, ID may be required;
  • Telephone the parent;
  • Hand over the child when satisfied that the person is the parent’s choice for collecting their child.

If applying to use the Waiting Club, you are agreeing to the above procedures.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding,
