The Board of Governors and Staff of St. Mary's on the Hill P.S. would like to wish our entire school community a Happy and Holy Easter. We hope you enjoy the time spent together with friends and family. We look forward to welcoming all our pupils back on Monday 28th April.
This week we walk beside our Lord Jesus as we remember his passion, crucifixion and resurrection from the dead. P6GB will be hosting an assembly this week for their parents and carers celebrating the Easter season. We think and pray for our whole school community during this special time.
This week our pupils are raising money for Trocaire. They are fund raising through a wide variety of events including book and jumble sales, sponsored walks and runs and also through have Pyjama days. There will be lots of fun to be had this week all while raising money for those who are in most need in our world.
Our P1 children will be going on an educational outing to Ark Farm this week. We are sure they will have a wonderful time and learn so much about the animals they will see. Look out for photos of their excursion on our Facebook page.
We are excited to be promoting a healthy lifestyle in St. Mary's on the Hill P.S. For the next two weeks we are taking part in Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel 2025. Alongside this our school council will be promoting healthy eating through encouraging everyone to select a healthy break. Healthy Times Ahead!
We would like to wish our whole school community a very happy St. Patrick's Day. On Friday we will celebrate all the wonderful things associated with the day including music, poetry, acting, singing and dance. We hope you enjoy the day.
Excitement is growing for our ‘Big Book Swap’ to celebrate World Book Day! Remember, if you haven’t already brought in your book there is still time! Just pick a book you no longer need, wrap it and add some extra details with a short blurb or picture! We are getting very excited in school for our World Book Day celebrations!
Internet Safety day takes place in February each year. This day was officially celebrated last week during the school's mid term break, so we are hosting a special assembly on Wednesday to share the important message of being safe online. Our digital leaders have prepared a presentation and will deliver this on Wednesday.
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week, and the focus is Know Yourself, Grow Yourself. The aim is to encourage children and young people to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them. We look forward to engaging our school in a range of activities which promotes positive mental health in all our children
On Friday 10 January 2025 Primary One application procedure opens with online portal available from 12noon. On Friday 24 January 2025 at 12 noon the Online Portal will close. Any application received after 12 noon on 24 January 2025 will be treated as late.
